Health and Safety Classes
Call 815-756-7339 to register and arrange payment for classes. Registration and payment must be received no later than 3 days before the class date.
NOTE: Classes may be cancelled due to weather or low registration – if this occurs, registered participants will be notified immediately by the chapter to reschedule.

First Aid (3 Hours - $45)
Learn the skills needed to prevent, recognize and provide basic care for injuries and sudden illnesses until advanced medical personnel arrive. Basic disease transmission precautions covered. Meets OSHA First Aid Guidelines. Certification is for three years!
CPR/AED for Adults, Children and Infants (5 hours - $45)
This training prepares students to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults, children and infants as well as how to apply basic precautions to reduce the risk of disease transmission during and after providing care. In addition to CPR, this course includes training to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer (4 hours - $45)
This course covers: responding to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults, children and infants, two-rescuer CPR, preventing disease transmission, use of bag-valve masks and AEDs.
This course meets all criteria of the Joint Commission of Accreditation for Hospitals. American Red Cross certification is accepted in all 50 States.
Babysitter’s Training (7 hours - $25)
If you are 11 to 15 years old, you can get the knowledge, skills and confidence to care for infants and school-age children. Babysitter’s Training shows you how to:
- Respond to emergencies and illnesses with first aid, rescue breathing and other appropriate care.
- Make decisions under pressure.
- Communicate with parents to learn household rules.
- Recognize safety and hygiene issues.
- Manage young children.
- Feed, diaper and care for infants.
- Course also covers leadership, safe play, and Infant and Child CPR!
Prerequisites: Students must be at least 11 years of age.
